Interesting thoughts. I've been working on getting better at notes, starting with improving engagement, but working to understand which ones actually creates subscribers. I'm at the very beginning of this journey, but I'm gradually accumulating enough data to draw something conclusions.
I've gotten better at writing notes that people are interested in. Now I plan to get better at helping them align with my articles so that a profile visit actually results in a subscriber...
Thank you so much for sharing this. Your insights are invaluable. Im definitely going to put your words into practice. Love and light sent your way. 🌙💫
Great tips here! I’m still pretty new to Substack and I still find most of my subscribers come from sharing in LinkedIn. Haven’t noticed many subscribers from my notes. A lot of scrolling and likes, but that’s as far as it goes. Maybe it’s still too early to tell.
My subscribers started growing slowly from November onwards when I started using Notes more.
I didn't see the Notes signups and subscribers metrics until a few months ago when chatting with @Yana G.Y. - she asked me a basic question and I started studying this in more details.
Every note has metrics, and if you look deep enough you can see signups (free subscribers) and subscriber count that the note has generated. In the tool I made it easier to find this data and help writers to figure out what resonates with their audience.

Thank you. How do you see if someone submitted from a note?
