I just uploaded version 1.4.0 of Substack Notes Scheduler to Gumroad. It features new enhancements that can be attributed to Julie Diebolt Price. Thanks, Julie, for our quick chat yesterday.
I added the ability to sort the Notes by created date in ascending or descending order. This helps you find the note more easily if you have hundreds of them.
I also added the ability to search Notes from the Scheduled Notes, Saved Notes, and Delivered Notes sections using keywords. The content of matching notes is retrieved and displayed in the editor window along with the creation date.
I'm having trouble loading the update. Do I have to delete the old extension and reinstall the new one? I have some things scheduled. Will I lose those if I delete the old extension?
Yes, those scheduled notes will be removed if you delete the old version.
Version 1.2.3 does support the Export to YAML function, so you could try making a backup before removing the old version. Once upgraded, you can import the YAML files from the backups.
Is it possible to put a Sort function into the Saved and Delivered posts? I’ve been scrolling through all of my posts to find the one I want. Because I was saving frequently, each note appears by date and time. Too many copies to work efficiently.
Would expanding the Search function help with this problem?
Right now Search is looking only notes from template file, but not very people are using the templates. So I could potentially re-purpose the Search button to search from other notes.
I tried the Search function and of course it didn’t work the way I wanted it to. Is that an easier fix than putting sort functions in? I’m not sure if it will fulfill my needs until I try it.
I backed up YAML files, deleted old version, reloaded new version, imported YAML files, set up Settings. Everything seems to be working with the exception of loading a post. It appears in the Saved Notes, but won’t load. I didn’t have any posts scheduled. I’ll let you know if I run into more problems.
Here's one error message: Access to fetch at 'https://us02web.zoom.us/api/v1/image' from origin 'chrome-extension://iekhfhdfdpjiililokodgclpgfljkago' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.
Hi Julie, I recommend that you upgrade to version 1.3.5. I resent you the Gumroad purchase receipt email. You can download a new version free of charge. This version will ask you to configure your Substack Notes page URL—see this user manual, STEP 1. Once you have configured and tested the Post button so that it works, you shouldn't see these errors anymore.

I'm behind with my updates...gotta catch up!

I sent you a DM with a screenshot of the new Search function.

Several times during my creation process, the program reboots. I learned to save often, but it is annoying.
Hi Julie, does the Chrome extension or the Chrome browser reboot? Have you checked the error logs using these instructions? https://finntropy.substack.com/i/164369186/errors-and-troubleshooting

The extension reboots, not Chrome.
Are you able to add uploading videos because SS allows it now.
The Chrome extension doesn't support videos. You can add a link to the video (like a YouTube link), though.
